What kind of drug cocktail did they give him???

Aaron's surgery went well today- surgeon said everything went as expected. He made an incision in his lower left side and was able to successfully tie off the problem-child vein.

He's feeling pretty good right now, just watching old episodes of So You Think You Can Dance. We've eaten lunch and he's definitely walking better than I did. He's already asked when he can start running again. We'll see how things go when the medicine wears off...

Speaking of the medicine, this guy has been flat-out mischievious since recovery. He's asking me tons of questions and pestering me about everything. What did they do to my sweet husband??

I sure hope this works. I hope he no longer has any discomfort from the varicocele. And I hope that this will get us the baby we've been waiting for all this time. We will never, ever take a single day for granted.

  4. I'm glad to hear the surgery went well. My DH had the same surgery in 2006 but unfortunately we still didn't get pregnant. Things did improve, but not enough I guess. Here's hoping your DH has a much better result!!!!

  5. Congrats on acing the surgery! I know ya'll are glad to get that behind you. My DH was hilarious on the drugs after his sinus surgery. He'd ask a question, we'd explain everything, then he'd nod off - only to wake up 30 min later and ask the same thing all over again. For about 3 days.

Meet Our Little Miracle, Paisley Kate

The post I have been waiting 2 years to write is finally here and I can't really believe it. On Saturday, I woke up at 8:30 a.m. with BAD contractions. By the 2nd one, I knew I was in "real" labor. They were SO different than the braxton-hicks. I got out of bed and decided that I'd take a bath, until water ran down both legs. The pain after that got pretty unbearable immediately and I was having contractions every 2 1/2 to 3 minutes. So, I called Aaron at work to tell him it was "the big day". He decided I was kidding until I nearly leapt through the phone to wring his neck. :) We got to the hospital an hour later and I was dilated to a 4 and having very active contractions. They quickly got me moved to an L&D room. I got my epidural ( AMAZING - we'll talk about this in its own post soon) at a 6 and then my doctor broke my water. (Apparently at home, it had just leaked a pocket of fluid). After he broke my water, labor started picking up ...

Blogging Failure

The fact that I blog less than I exercise is not a good sign.  I miss you all.  And I'm glad to be where I'm at because the problem is that my cup runneth over.  Life is crazy.  The kids are growing and becoming real people and exploring and I'm still struggling to figure out how to parent a VERY challenging 3-year-old. Dear Paisley is actually quite a joy to raise.  She is spunky and energetic and funny.  We desperately struggle to stifle our laughter as we discipline her for things that I never expected her to do or say.  She is the center of attention and loves her baby brother like there's no tomorrow.  I've never met a more opinionated and divalicious child though.  She picks every piece of clothing she wears, which toy she brings in the car, exactly what she is willing to eat, how her hair is fixed, which door she uses to get in the car, etc.  I hear you out there judging me.  I would have to until I gave birth to Whitney ...
It has been WAY too long since I’ve posted here and I’m eager to rejoin the blogging world!!!  The kids are 5 and 7 and super fun, I’m working at a medspa doing injectables and lasers full time and I’m 14 years in to marriage now.   But here’s where life has now lead me!  I have been driven to do a medical mission trip over the past few weeks and I’m very set on Haiti.  Yes, they are currently having a temper tantrum over the increased fuel prices which they definitely can’t afford, but that country needs help!!!!!   So, I’m here to tell my story of how this all goes!  I’ll need lots of prayers and support in this crazy endeavor!
