27 weeks

Okay, I don't know why it's soooo impossible to upload pictures tonight, but I'm too tired to try any longer. So let's just say that my belly is still growing like crazy and people are starting to think that I'm due soon. I'll post a visual for you as soon as the computer will cooperate with me.

Gil is 27 weeks old now which is hard to believe. I've gained 18 pounds which is easy to believe considering the way I've been eating. I still feel really good except that I'm not sleeping. At all. I fall asleep so easy just like the old days. But as soon as I wake up once due to joint pain or leg cramps, I might as well throw in the towel. And I'm not even urinating during the night, so I'd be able to sleep great. If that was possible. Which it obviously is not.

Remember how I got a vaginal exam at my appointment last week due to a tiny bit of discharge. Yeah, well it turns out I have a bacterial vaginosis infection along with a yeast infection. So, I'm on antibiotics three times a day, bringing my pill total to 8 per day. In a pregnancy I hoped to be drug-free. :) Of course, I also intended to eat healthy and exercise...

We had another childbirth class last night and we did an exercise where we stuck a hand in a bucket of ice to try to focus on our breathing and relaxation. What ended up happening is I fired Aaron as my coach because he apparently gets the giggles when it comes to hypnotherapy. The girl next to us actually hit him if that says anything. Glad he thinks it's funny that I have to push this gigantic baby through my hoo-hah.

So, I'm off to start counting sheep and pretending to be getting some much needed rest. Thank goodness I'll be all caught up when the baby comes...

  1. It's 2am and I'm up so I'm right there with you on the sleep thing!
That sucks about the infections but good thing you didn't just blow it off as being normal discharge.
    Hope you're sleeping soundly tonight!!!

  2. Relish that, at least when you wake up, you don't NEED to get up and feed/comfort a baby [yet]. That always helped me relax and "enjoy" the middle of the night wakey-wakey time, or at least hate it less. Hope you get better sleep tonight!

  3. I have gone through bouts of sleep and no sleep this whole pregnancy... hopefully it'll get better for you before the end!

  4. Robbie and I had a little too much fun during our birthing classes. We had a very demonstrative teacher and often times we had to supress our giggles when we would look up and find her in precarious positions. Good times. I am glad you guys are enjoying the ride. CAN NOT WAIT to see you this weekend!! Oh - and if something comes up and you don't make it to the party - we will hunt you down. That's a promise. : )

  5. I would kick Aaron's ass if I could. Or force him to put various extremities in a bucket of ice water. Sheesh.

  6. Sorry to hear you have those infections but at least they caught them before it did something bad. I can't wait to see your bump. I bet its adorable. 27 weeks. Your getting so close :)

Meet Our Little Miracle, Paisley Kate

The post I have been waiting 2 years to write is finally here and I can't really believe it. On Saturday, I woke up at 8:30 a.m. with BAD contractions. By the 2nd one, I knew I was in "real" labor. They were SO different than the braxton-hicks. I got out of bed and decided that I'd take a bath, until water ran down both legs. The pain after that got pretty unbearable immediately and I was having contractions every 2 1/2 to 3 minutes. So, I called Aaron at work to tell him it was "the big day". He decided I was kidding until I nearly leapt through the phone to wring his neck. :) We got to the hospital an hour later and I was dilated to a 4 and having very active contractions. They quickly got me moved to an L&D room. I got my epidural ( AMAZING - we'll talk about this in its own post soon) at a 6 and then my doctor broke my water. (Apparently at home, it had just leaked a pocket of fluid). After he broke my water, labor started picking up ...
It has been WAY too long since I’ve posted here and I’m eager to rejoin the blogging world!!!  The kids are 5 and 7 and super fun, I’m working at a medspa doing injectables and lasers full time and I’m 14 years in to marriage now.   But here’s where life has now lead me!  I have been driven to do a medical mission trip over the past few weeks and I’m very set on Haiti.  Yes, they are currently having a temper tantrum over the increased fuel prices which they definitely can’t afford, but that country needs help!!!!!   So, I’m here to tell my story of how this all goes!  I’ll need lots of prayers and support in this crazy endeavor!

Blogging Failure

The fact that I blog less than I exercise is not a good sign.  I miss you all.  And I'm glad to be where I'm at because the problem is that my cup runneth over.  Life is crazy.  The kids are growing and becoming real people and exploring and I'm still struggling to figure out how to parent a VERY challenging 3-year-old. Dear Paisley is actually quite a joy to raise.  She is spunky and energetic and funny.  We desperately struggle to stifle our laughter as we discipline her for things that I never expected her to do or say.  She is the center of attention and loves her baby brother like there's no tomorrow.  I've never met a more opinionated and divalicious child though.  She picks every piece of clothing she wears, which toy she brings in the car, exactly what she is willing to eat, how her hair is fixed, which door she uses to get in the car, etc.  I hear you out there judging me.  I would have to until I gave birth to Whitney ...
