Nice Breasts... Now what do I do with them???

I would like to start by thanking Little Gil for giving Mommy such wonderful new breasts. Very sweet gift and I love them! I'm kinda upset that I haven't always had these delightful curves...

The problem is that my bras hurt. Not just a little uncomfortable, but kinda painful. So I tried on bras today and realized that I couldn't even fit in the next cup size either. (I have to admit though that I wanted to proudly walk out and tell the sales lady that I couldn't fit in the 34C...)

So, my question for all of you who have experienced this sudden "enhancement", how much did your milking station grow during pregnancy and when did you have most of the growth?

For instance, if you grew 2 cup sizes, did you do this during a certain part of pregnancy? My reason for asking is I don't want to go buying larger bras if I'm only going to outgrow those in a couple of months too. I'd like to know what size these bad boys are going to get so I can plan accordingly. And in case it matters, I'm going to try to breastfeed which we need to further discuss in a future post. There was a lot of thought that went in to that decision!

So, any advice/help would be greatly appreciated!!!

  1. I'm not so much a fan of my enlarging bust size, but so far I've been able to squeeze in my normal bras. I was noticing my sports bra was a little more uncomfortable today...oh the fun of our changing bodies but I'm so thankful it's changing at the same time!

  2. I had the same problem. During the middle part of my second trimester I grew two sizes larger. Now, in the third trimester those bras are getting tight. ugh!! I am going to try to make the best of it but I've already bought nursing bras in the same larger size. I just hope they'll fit.

  4. Oh, the second trimester sounds fun! Two bra sizes in a single shopping trip is quite a feat. Maybe you'll get to wear them all again when you "shrink" back to normal after breast feeding.

  5. I went up 1 cup size first trimester and stayed that way til I delivered. I was doing well in that cup size while breastfeeding as well until recently. I'd say the first few days after delivering you're gonna just be hanging around the house so get a night-time nursing bra to wear during that time to see how big the twins get when you're milk comes in. Then send Moose to Motherhood Maternity for the best nursing bras on the planet!

  6. I think it is impossible to find one bra that will get you through - sorry :( I swear I needed a bigger one - or let let straps/hooks out, every month till I had the baby - and then I needed to go up another few cup sizes! At least for the first few months, the girls are quite large. After you get into a feeding routine with your bub, they seem to come back to your pre-pregnancy size...at least they did for me. I ended up using nursing tanks mostly for first few months, because they were stretchy and comfortable and kept my not-so-toned tummy area covered when I was feeding the wee one.

  7. Found your blog through a friend of a friend...love the title!

I've found with both pregnancies that I go up about two cup sizes and up to 4 inches around (pre-preg 34A...third tri 38C). Instead of buying new pretty bras, though, I go to Target and score a couple of their moderately priced underwired nursing bras. They are fairly close to 'normal' bras, but they help out with the shape of pregnant boobs - you know, starting under your arms and going on forever.

Anyway, I love those bras, because I can use them for so long after the baby is born. When milk comes in, you may even go up another size (or so), but only for a few weeks...then you'll be back in your third tri bras for awhile...then, for me, around month 5, the girls started heading back to pp proportions.

Best of luck finding that perfect fit! Oh, and I highly recommend Lansinoh nursing pads when that time comes...recently wrote a blog post about that, in fact. :)

Meet Our Little Miracle, Paisley Kate

The post I have been waiting 2 years to write is finally here and I can't really believe it. On Saturday, I woke up at 8:30 a.m. with BAD contractions. By the 2nd one, I knew I was in "real" labor. They were SO different than the braxton-hicks. I got out of bed and decided that I'd take a bath, until water ran down both legs. The pain after that got pretty unbearable immediately and I was having contractions every 2 1/2 to 3 minutes. So, I called Aaron at work to tell him it was "the big day". He decided I was kidding until I nearly leapt through the phone to wring his neck. :) We got to the hospital an hour later and I was dilated to a 4 and having very active contractions. They quickly got me moved to an L&D room. I got my epidural ( AMAZING - we'll talk about this in its own post soon) at a 6 and then my doctor broke my water. (Apparently at home, it had just leaked a pocket of fluid). After he broke my water, labor started picking up

The Resurrection

So here we are.  It's now a blog graveyard.  The followers have long since moved on and infertility is something that I've somewhat put in the past (only considering I don't want any more kids).  So why am I here and writing again?  What's the purpose?   This was my safe place.  It was where I came when everything seemed much too hard and I needed to feel comfort.  I wanted to express myself in a venue that others would reassure me and even understand me.  I still love and have always loved this blog.  It guided me during some of the hardest years of my life, dealing with infertility and miscarriage. And you know... I guess it will help me again now.  Because life is freaking TOUGH.  You know the phrase "I've went through Hell and back"?  Yeah, I feel that in my soul now.  I could have a blowout in the middle lane of the highway during rush hour traffic, manage to pull over my car on the side and call for roadside assistance without my pulse increasing ev

I'm Going to Let You in on a Little Secret

My dear blog readers, Those of you who know me well know that I do not keep secrets. It's actually physically impossible for me to keep a secret. So, it's going to really surprise many of you to find out that I've been staying silent about something pretty big. So, without further ado, I'd like to introduce you to the little miracle that came into our lives 13 weeks ago: We wanted to keep it to ourselves for a while to make sure things went okay this time. It's been a very terrifying 13 weeks and we are just now starting to feel that things could actually go well. We feel incredibly blessed to be pregnant with this baby and we are so grateful for every minute. To my friends who are still battling infertility , I'm not even sure where to start. You've been there with me through it all. You've held my hand and given me a shoulder to cry on when times are tough. You always know the right things to say because you've been there before. And you pray and
