16 weeks..

I'm 16 weeks now which is crazy. I feel like time is finally moving again and we're getting somewhere. I also feel like my belly ballooned this week. One morning I woke up and thought, where did this bump come from??? It's too heavy to sleep on my back now and of course my tummy is out of the question. And my body pillow has become a necessity.

Showing off my very sexy maternity jeans here with the secret fit full panel belly. I really can't figure out who decided that jeans needed buttons and zippers that actually do something. Elastic is where it's at.
My books say I'm producing colostrum (1st breast milk) as of this week which is kinda weird. My boobs feel a lot heavier this week, so I guess I believe it. Does this mean they can start leaking? One of my friends says she never leaked before her baby was born. I'm hoping not to start lactating pre-baby. :)
Also, I know quickening (feeling movement) can start around now. I don't think I've felt anything yet, although I had two quick flutters last week. When did you all start feeling your baby move? I'm really eager for this so I'm hoping it's sooner rather than later.

  2. Look at that precious belly!!!
    Aren't maternity jeans the best?
I love your posts because you're one week ahead of me, so I get to see what I can look forward to.
I think maybe I've felt a couple flutters, but I can't say for sure that it was the baby - definitely somethng I've never felt before though...
When are you going to start registering for gifts? Seems way too early, but time is flying!

  6. Pop!! Your belly is precious!!!!

I felt my first flutters (or at least I'm pretty sure they were my baby) around 14 weeks, but then a lot of time went by before I felt it again. I feel it now almost every day....hopefully you get that wonderful sensation soon!!!

I read that too about collostrum but I have yet to notice a real difference in my boobs other than their increasing size. I also know a lot of other mamas that didn't have any milk until after baby was born.

So happy you feel great these days!!! Oh, and you're damn straight that jeans should never have had zippers and buttons in the first place!! Maternity jeans are heavenly!!! :)

  7. I had to look back to remember - but I too felt my first "flutter" of Mr. Danger around 16 weeks. For me it was a "did I just feel what I think I just felt?" moment. You're looking great Amber...keep up that good baby-makin' work!

  9. girl, you look just adorable. Don't you just love the secret panel pants. I had a pair of jeans for the gap that had the secret panel in them. I loved them.

How exciting you think you felt quickening. Trust me, even if you don't feel it again for a week. Sooner or later it will start happening so much stronger there will be no mistaking. Its such an amazing feeling.

    I'm glad your doing good.
Oh and for sleep, what worked for me was a body pillow on one side and the c-shaped pregnancy pillow on the other side. My poor hubby nearly fell off the bed every night.

I hope your sleeping gets more comfortable.

  10. You've either been drinking a whole lot of beer, or that belly is really starting to grow.

  11. You look fantastic! What an adorable pregnant belly! =) You will also love when you first start feeling your baby move ... it's so cool. It feels tickly/fluttery like a little butterfly. I got the impression that they were rolling over in there.

  12. ADORABLE belly. Aren't those stretchy topped jeans THE BEST?! I may never go back :)

I "popped" around 15 or 16 weeks too. Now I'm 19 weeks and publicly pregnant! So, so fun.

Meet Our Little Miracle, Paisley Kate

The post I have been waiting 2 years to write is finally here and I can't really believe it. On Saturday, I woke up at 8:30 a.m. with BAD contractions. By the 2nd one, I knew I was in "real" labor. They were SO different than the braxton-hicks. I got out of bed and decided that I'd take a bath, until water ran down both legs. The pain after that got pretty unbearable immediately and I was having contractions every 2 1/2 to 3 minutes. So, I called Aaron at work to tell him it was "the big day". He decided I was kidding until I nearly leapt through the phone to wring his neck. :) We got to the hospital an hour later and I was dilated to a 4 and having very active contractions. They quickly got me moved to an L&D room. I got my epidural ( AMAZING - we'll talk about this in its own post soon) at a 6 and then my doctor broke my water. (Apparently at home, it had just leaked a pocket of fluid). After he broke my water, labor started picking up

The Resurrection

So here we are.  It's now a blog graveyard.  The followers have long since moved on and infertility is something that I've somewhat put in the past (only considering I don't want any more kids).  So why am I here and writing again?  What's the purpose?   This was my safe place.  It was where I came when everything seemed much too hard and I needed to feel comfort.  I wanted to express myself in a venue that others would reassure me and even understand me.  I still love and have always loved this blog.  It guided me during some of the hardest years of my life, dealing with infertility and miscarriage. And you know... I guess it will help me again now.  Because life is freaking TOUGH.  You know the phrase "I've went through Hell and back"?  Yeah, I feel that in my soul now.  I could have a blowout in the middle lane of the highway during rush hour traffic, manage to pull over my car on the side and call for roadside assistance without my pulse increasing ev

I'm Going to Let You in on a Little Secret

My dear blog readers, Those of you who know me well know that I do not keep secrets. It's actually physically impossible for me to keep a secret. So, it's going to really surprise many of you to find out that I've been staying silent about something pretty big. So, without further ado, I'd like to introduce you to the little miracle that came into our lives 13 weeks ago: We wanted to keep it to ourselves for a while to make sure things went okay this time. It's been a very terrifying 13 weeks and we are just now starting to feel that things could actually go well. We feel incredibly blessed to be pregnant with this baby and we are so grateful for every minute. To my friends who are still battling infertility , I'm not even sure where to start. You've been there with me through it all. You've held my hand and given me a shoulder to cry on when times are tough. You always know the right things to say because you've been there before. And you pray and
