Anatomy Scan

Our anatomy ultrasound went perfectly today and like any really annoying new mommy, I'm going to show a ton of the pictures they took today and act like you really wanted to see them all!!! And if I can figure out how to download the DVD, I'll be torturing you with it later this week... It's even cuter than the pictures...That's a leg propped up in the right corner there.
This is the baby in a thoughtful pose. I'm sure he/she is sure to be a genius!

BABY!!!! (Did you really think I was going to ruin such a fun surprise?)
Little worried about the size of those feet in such close proximity with my fragile little ribs...



Being shy... We weren't camera ready for this shot! This leads me to think it's a girl. :)

Baby is measuring 9 ounces which is great for this point and all measurements were good. The brain measured the smallest which makes me think it has to be a boy. :)
The tech was easily able to tell what the gender is but she kept it to herself. It was the first time I've been tempted to know because all it would have taken is one word out of her mouth and I'd have known if I was having a daughter or son. But now that I'm home, I'm SO glad we didn't find out.
They'll scan me again at 30 weeks to check for size (I'm a lot concerned that this baby will end up humongous.) I can't believe I have to wait 12 weeks for another scan!!! What will I do with myself???
Oh, and I mentioned that I'm freaked out about cervical incompetence so she did a vaginal u/s (I actually volunteered for this) and my cervix is 4.8 cm and tightly closed. That made me feel a lot better!!! And it had been way too long since I'd had to take my pants off at the doc's office, so I felt it was overdue.

    WOW WOW WOW!!! What awesome pictures!!! He/she is gorgeous!!! 12 weeks is long time before you get see him/her again, but you'll make it - you can do anything!

    I'm crazy paranoid about cervical incompetence too!!! So they can scan while they're down there, huh? I need that. Why are we so convinced that the worst things will happen to us? Cause we're IF girls and our heads are f-ed up...

    Get that video up - I want to see the baby play!

    I'm sooooo happy things went well today...He/She is so adorable already...Still think its a girl... Hope things are going well, I'm going to try and stop by the clinic on friday afternoon...

    AHHHHH!!! This pics are so awesome! :):) And good for you for staying strong and holding out on knowing the gender! The little guy (I think guy) or girl is so stinkin cute! Please tell me you are framing some of these..haha because someday when I frame mine...I won't feel like a dumbass...:)

    Awww..your little baby is sooo cute! You got some really great shots! It's funny that you are worried about the cervical incompetence b/c that's been my one concern in the 2nd tri, especially with the 3 IUIs and D&C I had. I'm glad to hear all is looking perfect!

    Those are great ultrasound pictures. I always liked getting the vaginal ultrasounds simply for the good close more clear pictures of the baby. It was worth it to me.
    I don't know how your having so much self control and not finding out the sex. Good for you. I wonder what it is??

Meet Our Little Miracle, Paisley Kate

The post I have been waiting 2 years to write is finally here and I can't really believe it. On Saturday, I woke up at 8:30 a.m. with BAD contractions. By the 2nd one, I knew I was in "real" labor. They were SO different than the braxton-hicks. I got out of bed and decided that I'd take a bath, until water ran down both legs. The pain after that got pretty unbearable immediately and I was having contractions every 2 1/2 to 3 minutes. So, I called Aaron at work to tell him it was "the big day". He decided I was kidding until I nearly leapt through the phone to wring his neck. :) We got to the hospital an hour later and I was dilated to a 4 and having very active contractions. The Resurrection

 So here we are.  It's now a blog graveyard.  The followers have long since moved on and infertility is something that I've somewhat put in the past (only considering I don't want any more kids).  So why am I here and writing again?  What's the purpose?   This was my safe place.  It was where I came when everything seemed much too hard and I needed to feel comfort.  I wanted to express myself in a venue that others would reassure me and even understand me.  I still love and have always loved this blog.  It guided me during some of the hardest years of my life, dealing with infertility and miscarriage. And you know... I guess it will help me again now.  Because life is freaking TOUGH.  You know the phrase "I've went through Hell and back"?  Yeah, I feel that in my soul now.  I could have a blowout in the middle lane of the highway during rush hour traffic, manage to pull over my car on the side and call for roadsi...

Santa Claus

I miss blogging.  It's just that I'm trying to minimalize the busy-ness in my life right now because the holidays always make me overwhelmed.  Like I get a bit crazy.  All the gift-giving, shopping, parties, family, friends, drama, food, etc.  Sounds fun to most people but I just do better with simple.   And that word hasn't described my life since giving birth 3 years ago.  Sooo, I go missing from time to time, but I keep up with everyone else's blogs!   This was my mom's attempt at a Christmas card with the kids.  It looks like they were decently enjoying it but the truth is both kids were having fits for absolutely no reason.  She used it anyways.
