Christmas pictures

Paisley at her Christmas shoot!  I had no idea she could lift her body up so much...  :)

We're still doing good around here.  I left with her with my mom for 4 hours on Saturday morning to go work at Aaron's clinic and it wasn't too bad!  My mom loved it, Paisley never noticed, and I survived without a mental breakdown.  In fact, I didn't even cry!  :)

Sleep has been going pretty well here.  We fall asleep about 10-11 pm (I know it's late, but she won't fall asleep earlier) and she wakes up around 4:30 to eat, then sleeps until about 8-9 am.  Some nights she wrestles more than usual, but the past 2 nights she's slept soundly.  Of course she's still in our bed and I'm not quite sure when that's going to change.  The child is still not okay with being put down for naps in her crib or cradle, so I know overnight is out of the question.

She's a happy baby for the most part, but I'd never call her "easy".  She has a way she wants things done and if you don't do it her way, she throws a fit.  A little worried we have a diva on our hands....   Case in point:  she VERY reluctantly drank 4 ounces from a bottle on Saturday while my mom was watching her but threw a huge fit the whole time, just to remind her that it was not the way she wanted it.  My mom kept reminding her that it was my milk made just for her, but she didn't seem to feel like being rational about it!

She's talking more and more and gives such amazing smiles!  I love it when she coos and she started mimicing me when I stick out my tongue.  She loves her playgym now and turns her body in circles to play with all of the toys.  Her hand-eye coordination is less than perfect but she wildly throws her arms around and hits the toys hanging from it.  Super cute.  And she still adores her bouncer seat, but despises the swing...  You win some, you lose some!

  1. love the pics!! i feel like we have a demanding child too with a "redhead's temper" so i feel ya on that! :)

however, blaine does love his crib at night, but DEFINITELY not for naps. maybe try the crib at night only to start out. i think night sleep is easier for kids than day sleep!

  6. Love those pics...so cute:). She sounds a lot like my little one - very much knows how he wants things and lets you know, loudly:). He has almost an exact sleep schedule as Paisley - he doesn't go down for bedtime 'til between 10 and 11 either, gets up at 5am and then sleeps until 8 or 9. So weird! And he sleeps beautifully in his bassinet at night, but still no luck during the day...sigh. We'll figure it out - like you said, you win some, you lose some. At least he sleeps in the swing during the day....sometimes:).

  7. Love the pics! I hope to get Callie's done this week for her 2 month shots. Glad Paisley is carving out a routine - at least you know what to expect for the most part. Like you said, "baby steps," things will continue to come along. Can't wait till Wednesday!

  11. She really is beautiful. What sweet pictures. I can't believe how skilled she is already! It's hard to believe my Tiger will be able to do all that stuff in just a couple short months.... although the sleeping part will certainly be welcome!

Meet Our Little Miracle, Paisley Kate

The post I have been waiting 2 years to write is finally here and I can't really believe it. On Saturday, I woke up at 8:30 a.m. with BAD contractions. By the 2nd one, I knew I was in "real" labor. They were SO different than the braxton-hicks. I got out of bed and decided that I'd take a bath, until water ran down both legs. The pain after that got pretty unbearable immediately and I was having contractions every 2 1/2 to 3 minutes. So, I called Aaron at work to tell him it was "the big day". He decided I was kidding until I nearly leapt through the phone to wring his neck. :) We got to the hospital an hour later and I was dilated to a 4 and having very active contractions. They quickly got me moved to an L&D room. I got my epidural ( AMAZING - we'll talk about this in its own post soon) at a 6 and then my doctor broke my water. (Apparently at home, it had just leaked a pocket of fluid). After he broke my water, labor started picking up ...

The Resurrection

So here we are.  It's now a blog graveyard.  The followers have long since moved on and infertility is something that I've somewhat put in the past (only considering I don't want any more kids).  So why am I here and writing again?  What's the purpose?   This was my safe place.  It was where I came when everything seemed much too hard and I needed to feel comfort.  I wanted to express myself in a venue that others would reassure me and even understand me.  I still love and have always loved this blog.  It guided me during some of the hardest years of my life, dealing with infertility and miscarriage. And you know... I guess it will help me again now.  Because life is freaking TOUGH.  You know the phrase "I've went through Hell and back"?  Yeah, I feel that in my soul now.  I could have a blowout in the middle lane of the highway during rush hour traffic, manage to pull over my car on the side and call for roadsi...

Santa Claus

I miss blogging.  It's just that I'm trying to minimalize the busy-ness in my life right now because the holidays always make me overwhelmed.  Like I get a bit crazy.  All the gift-giving, shopping, parties, family, friends, drama, food, etc.  Sounds fun to most people but I just do better with simple.   And that word hasn't described my life since giving birth 3 years ago.  Sooo, I go missing from time to time, but I keep up with everyone else's blogs!   This was my mom's attempt at a Christmas card with the kids.  It looks like they were decently enjoying it but the truth is both kids were having fits for absolutely no reason.  She used it anyways. My ornery little stud-muffin playing on the stairs. Graham having a VERY rare fit.  I had to capture the moment. Sweet sibling time in pajamas.  Times like this one melt my heart and make me feel good about my decision to have two kids. Graham was tota...
