More pictures...

My mom luckily took lots of pictures from Halloween too so she had a non-blurry picture of the 3 of us!!!  Yay!  I'm super excited that we don't all have to get re-dressed up to get this shot.
The Beekeeper with his Bees
Nothing says "Let's Party" like breastfeeding in a bee costume!!!  Does anyone else think fishnet hose are really comfortable?  Wish they were appropriate for work/church/etc....

Having a little chit-chat with her Grandma

She's obviously the highlight of this picture, but let me point out that I'm wearing pre-pregnancy jeans here...  They weren't fun to get on and definitely not as comfortable as wearing elastic waistbands, but I'm in them!!!
Question: for those who have breastfed or are currently breastfeeding, did you start having cycles again?  I haven't had a period which I know can be normal while breastfeeding, but when does it come back?  I know people have gotten pregnant while breastfeeding so some people obviously cycle.  Just curious, because there is that crazy part of me that worries that I'll go back to my old ways and never have another period...  Stupid infertility always has me worried!

  2. Love the costumes! You guys are so cute!

With breastfed baby #1, I started cycling after we started solids at 6 months.

With #2, I started at 11 months, after I more or less quit breastfeeding.

Everyone is different. I know people who went 18 months or more. :)

  4. I haven't had a cycle yet, but I'm exclusively breastfeeding. The way I understand it is that you typically won't get a period until you stop bf'ing so frequently....but my doctor said that you can still ovulate without AF showing up, thus the importance of birth control while nursing. I don't know about you, but I'm happy Af's vacation has been nice and long!

  5. So cute!!!! I still haven't had a real period yet and I haven't bf for 6 weeks! (part of me is worried that my body had gone straight into menopause since I never had cycle issues before but we'll see...)

  6. I was just pumping and not exclusively and I still had 3 months without a period. It was so nice! Paisley is such a cute little bee! And congrats on fitting in your pre-pregnancy jeans! I am so jealous! I can fit in a couple pairs of pre-preg dress pants but not the jeans yet even though I am back to my original weight. Looks like it's more crunches for me! =(

  7. I know a lot of women don't cycle at all while breastfeeding. I was an unlucky one that started back when Emma was 11 wks old even though I was breast feeding exclusively!! I also got pregnant when she was not quite 9 months and I was still breast feeding. Everyone is different - I wouldn't worry about it yet!

  8. I nursed my twins exclusively until they were 14 months old. I got a 'period' at 6 months old, and again when they were a 11 months old, and it came back for good after I stopped nursing.

  9. I still haven't started yet either so I wouldn't be too worried. Love your Halloween costume theme!

  11. You look fabulous in the pics! So awesome you're in your jeans!
I have no idea on the periods but it was interesting to read everyone's comments about it. I'd like to try for baby #2 pretty quickly, so that gives me a lot to think about!

Meet Our Little Miracle, Paisley Kate

The post I have been waiting 2 years to write is finally here and I can't really believe it. On Saturday, I woke up at 8:30 a.m. with BAD contractions. By the 2nd one, I knew I was in "real" labor. They were SO different than the braxton-hicks. I got out of bed and decided that I'd take a bath, until water ran down both legs. The pain after that got pretty unbearable immediately and I was having contractions every 2 1/2 to 3 minutes. So, I called Aaron at work to tell him it was "the big day". He decided I was kidding until I nearly leapt through the phone to wring his neck. :) We got to the hospital an hour later and I was dilated to a 4 and having very active contractions. They quickly got me moved to an L&D room. I got my epidural ( AMAZING - we'll talk about this in its own post soon) at a 6 and then my doctor broke my water. (Apparently at home, it had just leaked a pocket of fluid). After he broke my water, labor started picking up ...

The Resurrection

So here we are.  It's now a blog graveyard.  The followers have long since moved on and infertility is something that I've somewhat put in the past (only considering I don't want any more kids).  So why am I here and writing again?  What's the purpose?   This was my safe place.  It was where I came when everything seemed much too hard and I needed to feel comfort.  I wanted to express myself in a venue that others would reassure me and even understand me.  I still love and have always loved this blog.  It guided me during some of the hardest years of my life, dealing with infertility and miscarriage. And you know... I guess it will help me again now.  Because life is freaking TOUGH.  You know the phrase "I've went through Hell and back"?  Yeah, I feel that in my soul now.  I could have a blowout in the middle lane of the highway during rush hour traffic, manage to pull over my car on the side and call for roadsi...

Santa Claus

I miss blogging.  It's just that I'm trying to minimalize the busy-ness in my life right now because the holidays always make me overwhelmed.  Like I get a bit crazy.  All the gift-giving, shopping, parties, family, friends, drama, food, etc.  Sounds fun to most people but I just do better with simple.   And that word hasn't described my life since giving birth 3 years ago.  Sooo, I go missing from time to time, but I keep up with everyone else's blogs!   This was my mom's attempt at a Christmas card with the kids.  It looks like they were decently enjoying it but the truth is both kids were having fits for absolutely no reason.  She used it anyways. My ornery little stud-muffin playing on the stairs. Graham having a VERY rare fit.  I had to capture the moment. Sweet sibling time in pajamas.  Times like this one melt my heart and make me feel good about my decision to have two kids. Graham was tota...
